Philip Massinger, John Lyly conspire to inspire Blog Creation.

Several months ago--during the 25 Things craze--I said that if I ever thought of a good name for a blog, I would keep one.

A few weeks later, I read Massinger's A Very Woman. The fifth act begins with the stage direction that is my title.

This stage direction, all by itself, is much more exciting than my life. I will not apologize for that. After all, one of the most important lessons of my life was learned from a blog kept by a literature grad student. I quote this lesson below:

"If anyone tells you that John Lyly's Euphues is better than Shakespeare, run like the motherfucking wind."

Her blog, as far as I can tell, no longer exists, or, at least, is no longer Google-able. Otherwise I would link to it.

So. Now even if I never make another blog post ever, you will have learned something. The circumstances under which you ought to run like the wind.
